Our Story

"TO BUILD MEN YOU START WHEN THEY ARE BOYS"

Achievers In Life (AIL) is a mentoring organization whose primary emphasis is on boys and young men ages 5-18. Achievers In Life helps participants to develop mentally, physically, spiritually and socially in order to achieve their full potential in life.

Historical Statement: In 1995, in response to news and stories about rampant homicides in Rochester, New York, a group of men recognized the need for more positive influences in the lives of young men. Young men needed to learn, live, and see examples of the timeless principles of good character and acceptable behavior. In response to these needs, the first AIL branch was started.

Achievers In Life was incorporated in 2006 and received 501(c) (3) (not-for-profit) classification from the IRS in 2007. While originally established in Rochester, AIL’s base relocated from Rochester to Birmingham, Alabama, in 2006.
